Senior Leadership

Debbie leads a team dedicated to simplifying charitable giving for individuals, families and companies. With a background in tax and estate planning, Debbie ensures donors have access to a comprehensive platform of charitable tools for an exceptional giving experience. Debbie has served in a variety of roles since she joined our team in 1998, including general counsel and COO, before assuming the role of President & CEO in 2012. In 2023, Debbie was named as a member of Forbes’ 50 Over 50.

Brenda is responsible for managing business development, cultivating connections with philanthropists at all stages of their giving journeys, and providing world-class service to donors with funds at the Community Foundation. Brenda joined our team in 1993 and, throughout her years of service, has played an integral role in developing many “firsts” for the community foundation field. Brenda has served as a member of the Council on Foundations Leadership Team and has also participated in the Center for Creative Leadership program.

Katie oversees all financial operations, including investment oversight, technology and accounting. Katie oversees our investment program, which offers each donor the opportunity to customize the investments held in their fund by working with a trusted financial advisor of their choice. In 2017, Katie was named CFO of the Year by the Kansas City Business Journal. Prior to joining our team in 2004, Katie worked in various roles, giving her public accounting and private sector experience.

Beyond day-to-day legal responsibilities, Corey leads the Community Foundation complex asset team, which is nationally recognized for its expertise and ability to accept contributions of private businesses, real estate and other hard-to-value assets for charitable purposes. Corey has worked for the Community Foundation since 2005. With her background in estate planning and decades of experience in philanthropy, Corey has built a nationwide network of attorneys, accountants and financial advisors who trust Corey with their clients’ most unique and challenging philanthropic goals.
