Contribute to Your Fund

The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation offers several easy contribution options. Instructions for each option are listed below.

Contributions are normally posted within three to five business days of receipt, and they are reflected as of the date the deposit is received. Gifts of assets other than cash may take longer to show in the fund balance.

If you have any questions or are interested in donating a type of asset not listed here, please contact Donor Services at service@growyourgiving.org or 816.842.7444.

If your fund’s assets are invested separately in a financial advisor managed account, please work with your financial advisor to contribute to your fund. Financial advisors should email advisorservices@growyourgiving.org to notify the Community Foundation of incoming contributions.

Make checks payable to Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, noting your six-digit fund ID on the memo line. If you do not know your fund ID, the name of your fund is sufficient. Mail to our office:

To make a contribution online with a credit or debit card, log in to the Community Foundation’s giving portal. Click on the name of your fund, choose “Contribute to Fund” and then complete the form on the “Credit or Debit Card” tab.

To make a contribution via wire transfer or ACH, please complete our online form.
After completing the form, you will receive the account numbers your financial institution will need to make the transfer.

To make a contribution of publicly traded securities, please complete our online form.

If you plan to contribute mutual funds or bonds, please contact contribute@growyourgiving.org for separate instructions.

To name a Greater Kansas City Community Foundation fund as a beneficiary of a will, trust, life insurance policy or retirement plan account, the following language may be helpful in completing estate planning documents or beneficiary designation forms.

After describing what you want to leave to your fund (i.e., a percentage of the estate/trust/account or a specific dollar amount), please note that it will pass “to the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (EIN 43-1152398) for the following component fund: name of the fund.”

By making a donation, you acknowledge that your contact information and the amount donated will be shared with individuals who have access to the fund’s records.
